Being the loving homemaker and Mom she was, Martha’s Polish upbringing provided her with one of the greatest assets a mother could ever employ,…the skills of a Great Polish Cook. Equipped with many of the old world traditions handed down to her from years past, creating feasts of pleasure brought her immense joy. All she needed was a stove, an oven, and some preparation space, then just sit back and watch the magic unfold. She poured her heart and soul into each meal, and delighted in watching her family and guests enjoy each bite. If you left Martha’s table hungry, you simply weren’t tryin’!
Along with feeding her family and friends, Martha was also an integral part of feeding the community as well through her volunteering efforts at the church’s food pantry. Possessing the heart of a servant, she loved helping to provide for those less fortunate than herself, and she never tired of seeing the joy on their faces and knowing that reaching the masses begins with one person at a time. Centered in her devout and abiding faith in God, helping others was her mission and she affected the same with an unselfish and giving heart. As an active member of St. Florian’s, Martha was quite proud and honored to have founded the church’s Quilting Club, and the position she held for over 70 years as President of the St. Theresa’s Guild.
Beyond the church, Martha also enjoyed a couple of other passions in her love of the games of golf and bowling. Whether she was taming the links on a sunny day, or hittin’ the alleys with a few of her bowling buddies, Martha was imbued with a bit of a sporting spirit that she enjoyed sharing with family and friends alike.
A loving wife, mother and sister, Martha leaves a wonderful legacy of love in the lives she touched, the souls she ministered to, and the difference she made in fulfilling God’s Great Commission by reaching out to the world with the message of His love. She will be missed beyond expression and loved beyond measure.
Martha was the beloved wife of the late Steve Golota, and formerly of the late Henry Kutyla. Loving mother of Carol (the late James) Brown, Patricia (Charles) Vandelinder, and the late Kenneth Kutyla. Dearest sister of Bernadette Sparks.
Visitation for Martha will be held Sunday, September 26th from 4-8 pm, with an evening Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren, Michigan.
