Martha Agnes Kelsey

Martha Agnes Kelsey, age 85 of Warren, died Monday, November 13, 2006 at her daughters home in Shelby Township. Mrs. Kelsey was born July 26, 1921 in Bardwell, Kentucky the daughter of the late Herman Wallace and the late Alma (nee: Farrow) Wallace. She is survived by her children; Leona (Jack) Slone, Patricia (Alan) Young, and Jim Kelsey. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey (Jennifer) Slone, Matthew (Deana) Young, Robert Slone, Amy Young, LeAnn (Steven) Power, Jason Kelsey, Joshua Kelsey, Jordan Kelsey, and Alexandra Kelsey. Great- grandmother of Aaron, Allyson, Sean, Danielle, Daniel, Katelyn, and Hilary. Sister of Bill Wallace. Mrs. Kelsey moved from Illinois to Michigan in 1952 where she would reside in Ferndale for a number of years before moving to Sterling Heights where she would raise her children. She worked for over 18 years for Warren Consolidated Schools as a purchasing agent before her retirement. Martha always remained very active and continued to drive her car until recently. She had many wonderful friends and always enjoyed company or going to lunch. She was a proud and active member of Northpointe Baptist Church in Warren, where she was the oldest female member and matriarch. Her faith and bible were her foundation. She loved her bible meetings and bible study groups. Her many activities kept her mind sharp until her death. Martha cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Kelsey will be Tuesday from 4-9 pm, and Wednesday from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 mile). Funeral Services will be Thursday 11:00 am at the funeral home. Memorial donations are appreciated to the America Heart & Lung Association. Please share memories at her guest book.
