Born in Detroit to the late Bartholomew and Mary Regan, Mary loved her family more than anything. There were always laughs to share at her home around the dinner table. An excellent cook, she knew how to feed a crowd, and everyone in the family has a favorite dish of Mary's. She got people together for holidays and birthdays, but Mary also made it a point to bring people together to celebrate the everyday. She just seemed to know when it was time have a dinner or throw a barbeque. A classic TV and movie junkie, Mary always had something on playing in the background. Sometimes she would go out with family or friends to the Redford Theatre to enjoy a classic holiday movie and see their village set. She also appreciated going on senior bus shopping trips with her sisters and friends. Throughout her life Mary stayed especially close with her sisters. Thick as thieves, the three of them (Mary, Kathy, and Jane) would travel all over to see plays and go for boat rides. Some of her favorite memories were of their trips to Shipshewana and “up North” to Higgins Lake to stay at their sister-in-law Janet’s cabin. Mary was proud of her Irish heritage and finally got to visit Ireland a few years ago to meet her extended family and see the Irish countryside. A beloved mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, Mary will be missed dearly.
