Mary Anna Madurski (nee: Kruemmer), age 60, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Lenox Township on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 after a three year battle with ovarian cancer. Mrs. Madurski was born in Detroit on September 7, 1949, the eldest of eight children and the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (nee: Pierron) Kruemmer. She was a graduate of St. Cyril's Catholic High School on Detroit's east side. Mary Anna Kruemmer married Michael W. Madurski on April 19, 1985 and they resided on Detroit's east side until his death in August 2003. Just over two years later, Mrs. Madurski retired after almost 35 years with the telephone company as a service representative. Upon retirement, she moved to Lenox Township and assumed full-time care of her elderly mother. With her caregiving spirit and true sense of compassion, Mary was revered for always being the first one to lend a hand, a listening ear, or to do whatever she could to help someone along life's way. She was always mindful of others and went above & beyond to make a difference where she could. Perhaps most especially was the love and care she extended to her cherished nieces and nephews. Never having children of her own, she poured her heart and soul into them all and lived for each moment she was given to share in their lives. Mary was also a lover of animals, especially her two precious cats, Max and Harry. Mary may be gone, but will certainly not be forgotten as she leaves a legacy of love that will live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Mrs. Madurski is survived by her mother, Mildred Kruemmer, along with her siblings; Marlene (Timothy) Milligan, Margaret (David) Muss, Kathleen (Mark) Moninski, Ann Schultz (Dennis Blackwell), Kenneth (Susan) Kruemmer, John Kruemmer, Theresa (Samuel) Berry; and her best friend, Corinne (Michael) Scheuer. She was also a cherished aunt to 20 nieces & nephews and 15 grand nieces & nephews. Also among her family are 5 special godchildren; Theresa, Barbara, Nicholas, Gabrielle and Caleb. She will also be missed by her in-laws, three generations of the Walter Madurski family, her step-daughter, Theresa (Richard) Velchansky, as well as her many, many dear friends. Mary was a devoted daughter and a loving sister who kept the family on an even keel. Nobody was a better aunt and the kids will all miss her immensely. Visitation for Mrs. Madurski will be held on Saturday, July 10 from 3-9pm, with a 6:30pm Rosary Service, and on Sunday, July 11 from 1-4pm, with a 4pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in Mary's name, are welcomed to the MCRH Foundation, 1000 Harrington Road, Mt. Clemens, MI 48043. Please share memories of Mrs. Madurski at her guest book.
