

Marylou was the beloved wife of the late Harry H. O'Malley. She was a devoted and loving mother to Michelle (Michael) Langer, Michael (the late Nita) O'Malley, Mark (Anne M.) O'Malley, Timothy O'Malley, Kathleen (Keven) Ates, Jean (Chaz) Frechette, Patrick (Heather) O'Malley, Daniel (Tina) O'Malley, and Angelo (Joyce) Selva.
She was the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren, great-grandmother of 29 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandmother of two. Marylou is also survived by her sisters, Leona Sullivan and Lois (Charles) Murphy, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Marylou dedicated her life to serving others. She worked as a conflict mediator for the City of Detroit's Dispute Resolution and Conflict Center (DRCC), helping individuals and families find peaceful solutions during difficult times. Her commitment to her community extended far beyond her professional career. She generously volunteered with Focus: HOPE, Detroit Anti-Hunger and Youth Advocacy Center, St. Vincent de Paul, and the American Red Cross. She also served as an educator for the Arthritis Foundation, sharing knowledge and encouragement with those facing health challenges.
A lifelong advocate for youth, Marylou was active in both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, serving as a pack leader and mentor to countless young people. Her compassion, patience, and dedication left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
When she wasn't serving her community, Marylou found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She treasured family camping trips, where memories were made around campfires and under the stars. She also enjoyed crafting and creating beautiful handmade projects, sharing her talents and creativity with those she loved.
Marylou will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering faith in others, tireless service, and deep love for family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the generations of family who were blessed by her guidance, wisdom, and love.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held at the Warren location of A.H. Peters Funeral Home on Friday, June 5th, 3-8pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 6th, at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Mustard Seed Shelter, 1325 Cherry Street, Saginaw, Michigan 48601, would be appreciated.
