Michael G. Cruse age 56 and a resident of Rochester died Friday August 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mike fought the battle of his life against pancreatic cancer for the last two years of his life, however the battle was savored by the time he spent with his family. Mike was born in Highland Park Michigan September 15, 1955, the son of Mary A. (nee: Pereny) Cruse and the late Walter E. Cruse Jr. During Michael's life he lived and fulfilled many dreams and goals. He graduated in 1977 from Michigan State University, and later served as a police officer with Bloomfield Township. Realizing his love of the law he went back to law school at the University of Detroit to achieve his goal and serve as a lawyer for Warner Norcross and Judd, specializing in business and bankruptcy law. Michael's honors and awards achieved included being named to Michigan Super Lawyers 2010-2011, Selected as a 2010 Leader in the Law, Michigan Lawyer's Weekly Best Lawyers in America, Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Litigation - Bankruptcy Law, 2010-2012, Named a Top Lawyer by DBusiness 2010, just to name a few. The accomplishments meant nothing if you didn't give back, and that is exactly what Mike did through charitable giving and establishing his own foundation to help end Pancreatic Cancer. A simple quiet man who enjoyed simple things in life, taking care of his family, working hard, and always doing the right thing, even if it wasn't the most popular thing. His other enjoyment and solitude was to take long cruises on his Harley Davidson. Mike is the loving husband of Jane, and the cherished father of Aaron, and Natalie Cruse. He is survived by his mother Mary A. Cruse, and his siblings; Walter Elvis III (Judy) Cruse, Elena (Ron) Borrie, and Jeffrey (Laurie) Cruse.
