Michael married his wife Judith at St Clare Montefalco, in Grosse Pointe, and they spent 51 precious years together. As a family man, Michael relished all the time he spent with his relatives. The simple things he would do with them always made him happy. Whether that be crowding around the table for a game of euchre or going out for a Saturday dinner. His grandchildren meant the world to him and he did not let the distance between them bother him. Watching all of his grandson Henry’s races on Facebook, cheering him on loud enough for the neighbors to hear. Holidays were special to him; he loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and his Irish heritage. He especially looked forward to sitting down at his sister Colleen’s house, with a gin on the rocks with two olives, and eat Thanksgiving dinner with the people he loved. When he was relaxing at home, he would read the newspaper or watch television. At 7:30 PM, his time was strictly dedicated to his favorite show, Jeopardy. Nascar was another show he loved to watch even though he would say “the last 20 laps are all that matter”. Of course, when it came to his grandson’s races, he watched every lap intently. When he went out with friends, you could always find them at the bowling alley.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Judith Ann McKee, and their dear daughter Kate (Jess Albright) McKee-Albright. He is the treasured grandfather of Henry Michael Albright and Harper Marie Albright. The caring brother of Colleen (George) Flaviani and the late Karen (Tom) Dettloff. His memory will be cherished by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate any donations made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or to the American Heart Association.
