PFC Michael O'Connell Mikey, United States Army, age 31 of Warren, died Friday, May 22, 2009 in Nashville Tennessee. Mikey was born September 14, 1977 in Warren, Michigan the son of Michael James O'Connell and Johnnie (Misiak) O'Connell. Mikey was raised in Warren and attended Lincoln Schools. Mikey loved being in the military, his job, and also the man he became. Mikey had a deep and devoted love of his family and friends they have become the core of his being, devotion, loyalty, and most of all his love. He radiated joy in the presence of his nephews and nieces, whom were closest to his heart. He shared his love for all and showed sympathy and empathy for those in need. Mikeys passions in life were riding motorcycles, watching movies, playing jokes on people, and spending time with the love of his life and best friend Junebug. Mikey and Junebug enjoyed being together and doing absolutely nothing, just sharing their life together. Mike also had many tattoos telling the story of his heritage, pride, and the love of family. Mikey is the beloved son of Michael J. and Johnnie OConnell. He is the dear brother of Butch (Colleen), and Jeremy (Kristi) OConnell. Loving grandson of Elizabeth (the late Frank) Misiak, and the late William & Rose OConnell. Uncle of Kyla, Keff, Klay, Kali, Ethen, and Evan. He is also survived by many loving relatives. Visitation for Mikey will be Friday from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral 30009 Hoover at Common (12 Mile). Mr. OConnell will lie in state Saturday 9 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Roman Pasieczny. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Please share memories of Mikey at his guest book.
