With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Mikołaj Wilżak, whose kindness, strength, faith, and devotion to family touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Żaneta Wilżak; his daughter Natalia Mięgoć, son-in-law Mateusz, his cherished granddaughters Aurelia and Freya; and his beloved granddaughter Maya Wilżak-Laby. He also leaves behind his brother Tomasz Wilżak, sister-in-law Izabela, and nephew Bartek. He was preceded in death by his dear daughter Paulina Wilżak and by his parents, Jan Wilżak and Mirosława Wolna.
He carried a deep love for his Polish heritage and remained strongly connected to his roots, traditions, and family values throughout his life. He was also a man of faith who loved God deeply and leaned on his faith during both joyful moments and life’s struggles. His quiet strength, humility, and perseverance were an inspiration to those around him.
He found peace and happiness in nature and especially loved hiking in the mountains. Though he appreciated the beauty of the outdoors, he was also a true homebody who cherished simple moments spent with family. Some of his happiest moments were Sunday visits spent with his granddaughters, whom he loved deeply.
He was known for his remarkable ability to fix and build almost anything. Over the years, he worked as a contractor helping renovate homes, was once an airplane mechanic, and could repair nearly anything on a car. There seemed to be no challenge too difficult for his hands, patience, and determination. He was a devoted caretaker and provider for his family.
He also shared his love through cooking and baking. His family will forever remember the warmth of his kitchen, the meals he prepared with care, and the cheesecake many believed was truly the best in the world.
Above all, he will be remembered as a loving and humble man whose greatest joy came from caring for his family. His love, wisdom, faith, and steady presence will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
