Mildred was a long time member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Detroit, Michigan, where she was part of the Stephens Ministry. Within her church she was a proud participant in the Altar Guild. She would spend time with the Women’s Evening Circle, dedicating herself to planning activities and raising money for missions. She was voted the Lutheran Woman of the Year in 1999 by the Missouri Synod. As a strong, proud Christian woman, she loved to share her faith with countless others. She spent time volunteering at the Sterling Heights Senior Center, assisting where she could and serving coffee. Mildred was blessed with the ability to travel around the country and around the world. She was able to travel to the Holy Land with her friends from the Lutheran Center. All of those she touched will miss her kind, thoughtful spirit.

She is the cherished mother of Ruth (Dan) Dobberfuhl, the late Gerald (the late Erin) Haselhuhn, Diane (Wayne) Winterstein, Lois (Kevin) Conger, and Arlene (Scott) Barton. The treasured grandmother of Amanda Conger, Tim (ChelC) Conger, Katlyn (Curtis) McDonald, Beau Barton, Alyssa Barton, Graham Barton, Joshua Barton, and Kaeli Haselhuhn.
