

Nancy was born March 25, 1937, in Detroit Michigan the daughter of the late Shirley Louis Wells and the late Dorothy Marie (nee: Schroeger) Wells. Nancy was raised in St. Clair and the Algonac, Michigan area, graduating high school in 1955 from Algonac High School.
Following high school, Nancy moved to Chicago and studied nursing at the University of Chicago. She later met and married John “Rex” Hopkins and the young couple settled in Canada. She and Rex moved to many locations due to Rex’s work, living in Canada from 1966-1968, then to Mount Clemens, Michigan from 1968-1969, then out east to New Hampshire and Vermont from 1969-1977, then settling in Tecumseh, Michigan from 1977-1992, and lastly back to Algonac up to present.
Nancy was an avid reader who enjoyed watching World War II movies and cynical comedy series. Additionally, when her daughter was young, she was active with the Girl Scouts serving as the community chair in Tecumseh.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Rex Hopkins, and dear mother of Barbara Hopkins, and Eric (Glenda) Hopkins. Loving grandmother of Adam (Kristina), Arron (Kayla), Katrina (RJ), Gio, Patrick. Samantha, and great-grandmother of Kayden and Ezekiel.
A Cemetery committal services will be held on Tuesday, June 1st, 1:00 pm at Oaklawn Cemetery, 1171 Smith St. in Clay Township, MI.
Arrangements entrusted to D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, Warren, MI. Memorial donations appreciated to the Algonac Food Pantry at Trinity United Methodist Church.
