Nancy Jean Jurewicz

Born in Detroit to the late Edward and Bernadette Wills, Nancy loved her God and was a lifelong member of the Catholic church. Nancy always saw the best in everyone. She didn’t have a hateful bone in her. As her kids were growing up if they would tell her someone had done something wrong, she was quick to correct her kids and defend the wrongdoer in almost any case. She made a point to never judge anyone, and loved unconditionally. Nancy loved her family more than anything, and she treated her friends like they were part of her family. She never missed an event for her kids, and was the life of the party when it was time to have fun. The family enjoyed trips and spending time together laughing. One year, as an avid collector of Emmet Kelly clown figurines, on their trip to Frankenmuth Nancy got to meet Emmet Kelly’s son and he signed one of the clowns from her collection. Nancy loved to dance and sing, music was always a big part of her life. After marrying the greatest love of her life, James Jurewicz, the family attended a Pink Floyd concert, a memory that will forever be etched into her family’s life. Nancy lived for others and was always there to lend a hand to those in need. She was especially proud of her sobriety and always stayed involved with AA, helping others to navigate the path of sobriety and find joy in a new life. Many of the people she met in AA were some of her closest friends; they would go dancing, play cards, and volunteer together regularly. When Nancy’s children went on to have their own kids, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Nothing made Nancy happier than to be a grandmother and to be surrounded by her family. Nancy filled her life with a plethora of good memories and time spent with the people she loved. A devoted and loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Nancy and her beautiful smile will be missed dearly by all who survive her.

Beloved wife of the late J.J. for over 20 years. Loving mom of Jeffrey Kosztowny, Michele Bastian, Jennifer (Bob) Lenz, and Jeremy (Maggie) Jurewicz. Cherished grandma of Cassandra (Mitch) Lovett, Alexa (Keo) Keophilalay, Alyson Bastian, David Kosztowny, Corey Bastian, Aaron Bastian, Matthew Kosztowny, Kevin Lenz, Kara Lenz, Julia Jurewicz, and Jacob Jurewicz. Caring great-grandma of Ella Lovett, Ashton Lovett, and Avery Keophilalay. Dear sister of Carol Ann (Bruce) Fraser, Deborah (Dave) Winalis, Linda Wills, Donald (Carrie) Wills, Steven Wills, and the late Dennis Wills, and Jacqueline (Dave) Gibson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and her cat Squeekers.

Visitation Wednesday, June 21st from 4pm until 9pm with a 6:30pm Rosary at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren. Nancy will lie Instate at 10:00am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 Twelve Mile Rd, in Warren. Memorial donations to the wishes of the family are appreciated.
