Olga Ann Cebula, age 84, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at her home in Warren surrounded by her loving faimily. Olga was born June 27, 1930 in Detroit to the late Carl & the late Anna (nee: Zucovich) Sokol.Olga was a woman of deep Catholic faith, and a longstanding member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Warren. Along with the many ways she supported the church, she was especially proud of her association & membership with the St. Sylvester Ladies Guild which she held for many years. She was also known for the beautiful flower garden she maintained, and for that tremendously gifted green thumb she possessed that kept her busy for countless hours as she nurtured her flowers with the utmost in tender-loving-care. Olga's garden was a splendor for the eyes of family and friends alike. And like most Mom's and Grandma's of her era, she was quite the baker and surely knew her way around the kitchen,...and into the tummies of all who were lucky to partake of her sweet delights. Her family will forever remember those delectable cookies she baked that simply melted in your mouth. The last seven years of Olga's life was spent battling the increasing affliction of Alzheimers. In an effort to help support the fight against this crippling disease, her family got involved with the Alzheimer Association's yearly walk to raise money by forming their own family team called the "4 U Mom Team". Olga was the beloved wife of John to whom she was married for over sixty years. She was the dear mother of Dennis (Kim) Cebula, Tina (Chester) Holub, Lisa ( the late Bill) Walney, and loving grandmother of Andrew and Kymberly. Visitation for Olga will be held Thursday, January 15th from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. She will lie in state on Friday from 9:00 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Warren. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to the Alzheimer's Association, 25200 Telegraph Road, Suite 100, Southfield, MI 48033-7443, or to alz.org. Please share memories at Olga's guestbook above.
