Orrin Carr proudly served his country as an Infantry Mortar Specialist in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. For his courageous and honorable service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. After returning home from military service, Orrin pursued his passion for working with automobiles by attending school to become a mechanic. He took great pride in his work and had a lifelong love of cars, especially his cherished purple Plymouth Road Runner muscle car. His knowledge and enthusiasm for mechanics were gifts he gladly shared, including teaching his nephew how to work on and repair his own vehicles. Orrin dedicated many years of service to Kroger before retiring. He found joy in life's simple pleasures like relaxing at home, watching television, and enjoying an ice-cold Coke. Above all, Orrin treasured his family. He rarely missed a holiday gathering and loved spending time with those he held dear. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, wonderful sense of humor, kind heart, generous spirit, and gift for conversation. He was always supportive, willing to help others, and brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. His love, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Orrin was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Clinton (Marie) Carr and Raymond (the late Sandra) Carr.
