

Patricia Ann Olexa-Priest, age 80 died October 12, 2019 at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. Patricia was born June 2, 1939 in Center Line, Michigan the daughter of the late Stephen Olexa and the late Elizabeth (nee: Rossi) Olexa.
Patricia was raised in the Center Line and Warren area where she attended St. Clement Grade School and later graduated from Lincoln High School. Following her schooling she married and began a family. She raised her children in Troy, Michigan and later in life moved to Detroit.
Patricia had a love for caring for others which inevitably led her into her nursing career. Patricia path to nursing began later in life, she returned to college studying nursing at Shapiro School of Nursing at Sinai Hospital. Patricia achieved her degree and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Patricia would work for over 18 years at the Northville State Psychiatric Hospital in Northville, Michigan before retiring early due to the hospital closure.
When Patricia was not working she cherished her time with her girlfriends. She enjoyed bowling and theatrical shows. Whenever visiting Las Vegas she really did not gamble but enjoyed all the big theatre productions. Patricia also enjoyed bowling and traveling... She was a member of the Flying Aces Travel Club where she visited many exotic locales including Australia, Egypt, and many others.
Patricia was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile Princess. In addition to her memberships Patricia was a generous donor to charities and also became a Foster Parent to many children over the years. She never forgot her Catholic roots and her Christian upbringing which only led her to care for other human beings and also many animals.
Patricia was the wife of James G. Priest, and loving mother of James S. Priest, and Valerie Rose (the late Carl) Sikonia. She is the cherished grandmother of Jennifer, James, & Joseph Priest, and Scott, & the late Kevin Sikonia. Patricia was predeceased by her parents and brother Steven Olexa. She is also survived by many dear relatives and friends.
Visitation for Patricia will be held on Friday from 5-9pm at the at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 1/2 mile). Further visitation will be held on Saturday from 10am until the time of the Funeral Services 12 Noon at the Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Roseland Park Cemetery at 2:30pm.
