A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Paul served for 2 years from 1956 to 1958. He loved to adventure out onto Lake Huron on his sailboat or feel the wind in his hair cruising around on his BMW motorcycle. Paul worked for Home Depot for 30 years, dedicated to the job and hardworking but he loved it. His coworkers quickly became friends and then even family to him. He always looked forward to spending time with his family. He especially loved his trips to get ice cream with his daughter in the summer.
Paul is the beloved father of Deborah (Darren) Smith. The cherished cousin of many. Preceded in death by his parents Lajoie and Madeline foster. He is survived by his many close friends and his work family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, from 2pm until 8pm, with a rosary service held at 7pm, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren. Wednesday, June 5, a prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 9am followed by a procession to St. Margaret of Scotland, 12101 13 Mile Road, in St. Clair Shores. The instate period will begin at church at 10am until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30am. Military honors service will be held on Friday, June 7, at 10:30am at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, in Holly.
