Peggy grew up in the metro Detroit area with her parents and three siblings. Her family was known as being musically inclined, with Peggy being a wonderful singer. A woman strong in her Christian faith and love for Christ, she often would lend her graceful voice at church services. Peggy worked as a sales representative for Avon for 40 years. She loved makeup and making herself and others look and feel beautiful as they deserved. She especially loved wearing her favorite color, red.
Peggy was married to the love of her life, Dick, for 67 years. Together they had three wonderful children, Peggy and Dick, and built a house together in Surrey Lake, Michigan where many family memories were made. She loved to say “We are making memories” as well as being on the lake, and cooking breakfast for the whole family whenever they were there. She was an amazing cook and loved to feed big meals to her family when everyone could get together. When she was at home, Peggy would enjoy being outside in the sun and tending to her garden.
Peggy could do anything she set her mind to. She was an amazing teacher to her family, showing them everything she knew. Family meant the world to her and she simply loved being a Nanny to her grandkids and great-grandkids whom affectionately nicknamed her “Nanny Ducky”. She would never miss a sporting event for her kids, grandkids, or great-grandkids, cheering them on as their #1 fan. Peggy was known for her sense of humor. She made everyone laugh no matter where she was or who she was with. She loved to laugh just as much as she loved life. Peggy was simply the best. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally by all her friends and family.
Peggy was the beloved wife of Richard “Dick”. Loving mother of Peggy (the late Gary) Long, Rick Jr. (Lina), Debby (Laura) Jenkins, and “Adopted daughter” Margaret (Dennis) Forbush. Cherished Nanny of Sarah (Ryan) Stevenson, Stephanie (Fred) Wild, Jonathan Forbush, Dylan and Jack Jenkins. Adored great-Nanny of Joey, Landon, Austin, and Audrey Stevenson & Harper and Ellie Wild. Dear sister of Ron Beckingham, the late Jack Beckingham, and late Patricia Heffel. Special aunt of Pamela Swanson.
