Pietrina Marie Harris "Trina", age 60 of Warren, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. She was born September 26, 1956 in Detroit, daughter of Charles Lawrence and Patricia Jean (nee: Moceri) Badgley.Trina was born in Detroit and was one of 8 children, the eldest of 7 girls. She was a graduate of East Detroit High School and would ultimately enjoy residing in Roseville, Warren, and Center Line. Following high school, Trina set her sights on the health care field and received her license as an LPN (License Practical Nurse) which she utilized in both hospital work and the home care setting. She possessed a heart of compassion and the desire to help others, and was a shining star to the many people she assisted over the years. As for Trina's caring and compassionate persona, life presented her one special person who came to know that giving heart of hers as none other, her soul mate, Jeffrey. Cupid's arrow made its way into both of their hearts and found them sharing their vows of marriage on November 28, 1990 in the Silver Bells Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they enjoyed 26 wonderful years of marriage and the ride of a lifetime. Though Trina possessed that special touch when it came to caring for her fellow man, it wasn't just the two-legged species that benefitted from her giving spirit. She was also known for her compassion when it came to her four-legged friends as well. An animal lover by nature, Trina was blessed to be entrusted with the care of 5 wonderful pets,…her 4 cats and the late Jake, her canine pal. We are all well aware of just how much our pets can mean in our life, and that was never more true and evident than with Trina and her furry friends. When she was able to find time away from work, many of Trina's favorite things to do were prepare wonderful Italian dishes, hop in the car and head for somewhere scenic or serene,…the bonus was whenever the two came together. She loved heading to the country and taking in the natural landscapes of flora, fauna, and farmlands. She also enjoyed heading to the water and driving along the many coastal roads that lined this lake-filled state. But the best destinations of all were those that took her to get one of her two favorite treats, a frozen yogurt or a delicious Hot Fudge Sundae. That always meant she was Livin' Large,…if only for that special moment in time. Trina was also quite fond of every driving adventure that closed out an evening while enjoying a flick at the iconic Drive-In movie theaters. A bit of a step back in time, but she remembered it well. Before her eyes began to fail, and for a huge chunk of her life, Trina was known for her love of reading and her desire to be both educated and entertained. She devoured many great novels over the years,…long before the days of the Kindle. Her eyes,…they, unfortunately, were the predicator of an illness that would bring Trina incredible challenges, and 9 years of struggle that included 8 years on dialysis. But though her body suffered greatly, her heart and spirit remained as caring and loving as ever. She was a devoted wife, a loving daughter, a dear sister, and a cherished friend to many. She touched a multitude of hearts and lives throughout her life's journey and leaves a legacy of love for all to embrace with each reflection shared. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Trina was the beloved wife of Jeffrey Glenn Harris. Dearest sister of Grace Badgley, Mariann (Stephen) Medvik, Concetta (Michael) Buslepp, Catherine (Jesse) Gardner, Jo Badgley, Angela (Mathew) Rinkes and William (Colleen) Badgley. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren. Please share memories of Trina at her memory book above.
