Randall P. Schmidt

Randall (Randy) was born March 11, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to Margaret and Hugh Schmidt. He was the fifth of eight children in the family. He was raised in Warren, and graduated from Warren Tower High School.

Randy was in restaurant management for over forty years. He truly loved that business and its mission to serve customers with excellent food.

In his spare time, Randy loved the beach, boats, and just being near the water. Holidays were very special to him as our large family gathered.

Randy was a very loyal person, and he showed that with devotion to his family and friends. He was deeply proud of brothers Steve and Scott for their service to our country. Randy loved Scott’s dog, Cody, and watched over him while Scott was deployed.

Randy also volunteered with Wigs for Kids and was a supporter of Wounded Warriors and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathleen, and sister-in-law Cathy. He had a deep love for his parents and missed them greatly.

He will be dearly missed by his siblings: Steven (Cathy); David; Gary (April); Roger; Karen Henmueller (Jim); and Scott (Debbie).

In his over ten-year fight against COPD, Randy was aided by brothers Steve and Dave. A heartfelt thanks goes to them.

Randy loved his twelve nieces and nephews, and they loved him too. They are: Jamie; Jackie; Jennifer; Ryan; Lindsay; Laura; Elizabeth; Eric; Katie; Michael; Megan; and Layoun. He was also very proud to be Laura’s Godfather.

His closest friends were Butch Aho, Greg Fox, John David, Albert David, and Chris Jacob.

Randy will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery on June 7, 2025 with a private gathering of family per his wishes.

Memorials in Randy’s name may be made to Wigs for Kids, Wounded Warriors, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
