Raymond Lyle Porter

Raymond Lyle Porter age 87 died Sunday May 5, 2013 at the Bortz Healthcare Facility in Warren, Michigan. Mr. Porter was born June 28, 1925 in Detroit Michigan the son of the late Leroy and the late Ina (nee: Hill) Porter.Raymond proudly served his country with the United State Navy during World War II as a 3rd Class Signalman. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and went to work for Ford Motor Company's Wixom Plant where he worked for over 35 years.When Raymond was not working he was a great fan of the Detroit Tigers and would watch every game he could. Also Raymond loved his children and also the children in the neighborhood where they affectionately referred to him as grandpa.Raymond was the beloved husband of Doris, dear father of Mark Mortuk, Ann Burke, and the late Valerie Barnard and Alice Cowell. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Raymond will be Thursday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road). Funeral Services will be held Friday 11am, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan.Please share memories of Raymond at his guest book.
