

Raymond Skowron, age 83 of Fraser, died October 12, 2012 at the Sanctuary at Fraser Villa. Raymond was born February 27, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late John and the late Helen (nee: Miszczak) Skowron. Raymond proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a Dental Lab Technician which was a skill he learned while serving his country. He also worked as a landscaper and bartender. Although Raymond had many interests throughout his life, most notably, he loved gardening, boating, water skiing, snow skiing with the Skiwi club, and was an avid dancer. As is the case for so many people, Raymond loved his sweets. Raymond was quite the social butterfly. He enjoyed chatting over a cup of coffee or sharing a meal or drinks with his friends. Although he loved his Kentucky Fried Chicken nothing could ever beat his mother's chicken soup. Raymond was a devout Catholic and found great comfort in praying the Rosary. To his friends and family he was affectionately known as St. Francis because of his love for animals. Raymond had two monkeys, Bobo and Babett, he had birds, a dog named Peppy, and two cats, Sammy and Buddy. Raymond was a dear brother of the late Lottie (Felix) Nadolski and John Skowron. Brother-in-law of Demetra Skowron. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Raymond will be Monday 5-9pm and Tuesday 2-9pm with a 3pm Divine Mercy Service and 7pm Rosary at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ' Mile Road). Raymond will lie in state Wednesday 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church.
