He was born in Detroit, MI in 1934 to Helen and Joseph Wawrzynski and grew up in the city of Hamtramck, MI. Raymond attended St. Stanislaus High School before joining the Marine Corps in 1953 where he became a sergeant and was a proud competitor on the Marine Corps Rifle and Pistol team for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Joseph Wawrzynski and his wife of 60 years, Dr. Mary Stevens Wawrzynski, and is survived by his sister Jeanette Pulaski, daughter Laura (John) Mikesell and his son Derek (Rachelle) Wawrzynski. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Kyle, Olivia and Meredith Mikesell and Joel and Lauren Wawrzynski.
A Memorial Gathering for Raymond will held on Saturday, May 17th from 10am until the time of his Memorial Service at 11am at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, MI.
