Rebecca L. Skop (nee: Hargrove), age 86 of Warren, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at St. John Hospital - Macomb Center in Warren. She was born on July 5, 1923 in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Allie and the late Pearl (nee: Edmonson) Hargrove. Rebecca was known for being a quiet, peaceful lady who was endowed with simple, traditional values. Along with being a consummate cook, she also exuded the old-fashioned practice of canning the fruits of her harvests. She was most proud of the gardens she kept which included both vegetables and roses. Many of her vegetables were sown from seedlings which she nurtured with much care. Her hard work and gardening passion helped to produce a feast for both the eyes and the dinner table, something for which she will be dearly remembered. A loving Mom, grandmother and homemaker, Rebecca exemplified the blessings of a compassionate caregiver and lived for the moments she got to share with family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished for all eternity. Beloved wife of the late Louis. Dear mother of Barbara Pochodaj, Louis Jr., and Mark W. Skop. Loving grandmother of Michael, Gerald, Christina, and great-grandmother of Trevor. Visitation for Rebecca will be held on Friday, January 29th from 3-9pm, with a 6 pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at 11:00 am.
