Renee Marie Depunt

Renee M. DePunt, age 82 of Chesterfield, and formerly of Pontiac, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Village of East Harbor in Chesterfield, Michigan. She was born on July 4, 1928 in Belgium, the daughter of the late Florent and the late Jeanne (nee: Steuperart) Waelkens. Along with being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Renee was also most proud of her career accomplishments which were centered in the banking industry. Spanning over 30 years of dedicated service and loyalty with Comerica Bank, she attained the position of Branch Manager and oversaw operations at their Macomb Mall facility in Roseville, Michigan. When she wasn't working, Renee held a number of interests that brought her that perfect escape and enjoyment in life. For those times when she craved solitude, a couple of her favorite pastimes would find her either curled up with a good book, or exercizing her hands and creative talents in the art of knitting. When it came time for steppin' out and engaging with others, Renee found great delight in trying her luck at the casino, or around the card table in a rousing game of canasta. Yet, without question, her most profound passion was in the times she spent and the memories she made with her loved one's. The hearts she touched were many and she leaves behind a legacy of love for each of them to cherish and remember. She will be immensely missed. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph. Dear mother of Christine (Albert) Roulo, Richard (Linda) DePunt, and Joanne (Don Waldeck) Dontje. Loving grandmother of 10, and great-grandmother of 17. Sister of Jenny DeStefanis, and the late Luthgarde Smith. A Memorial Service for Renee will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 15th at the Village of East Harbor, 33875 Kiely Drive in Chesterfield, Michigan. Memorial donations are welcomed to, both, the Odyssey Hospice, 25285 W. 11 Mile Rd., Southfield, MI 48033 - or - the Village of East Harbor, 33875 Kiely Drive, Chesterfield, MI 48047.
