

Richard A. Cavazos went home to be with his Savior on July 12, 2013 at Princeton University Medical Center in New Jersey. Richard was born June 13, 1932 in Hamtramck Michigan the son of the late Estanislao and Wanda (nee: Lipowski) Cavazos.Richard spent his early years in Hamtramck, and graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit. Following high school he went on and received his degree from Lawrence Technical University. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation Richard served his country for two years in the United States Navy, following his service Richard married his wife, Jerri. He was a true romantic and absolutely adored his wife of 52 years.Richard carved his career out as a tool engineer spanning more than 41 years with Chrysler Corporation. Richard took great pride in his work and passed this legacy and dedication to his family. A father of four, he was very proud of his children's accomplishments and their spouses. His fifteen grandchildren and two great grandsons held a special place in his heart.He appreciated home cooked meals and staying physically fit. Another passion of his was listening and collecting music of various genres, his favorites being Latin and jazz. He thoroughly enjoyed vacationing with his family and taking trips to Florida, Washington DC, Virginia, and California. Richard's children remember fondly the trip to California... and although at the time when their father made his chagrined children rise early to witness the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean, they understand now God's wonderful treasures given to us. Always a "car guy" through and through, Richard loved working on, tinkering with, spotless polishing, and perfecting his cars... while in his younger years he had a passion for convertibles and later in life he became more practical driving his favorite Chrysler's. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and was an avid University of Michigan Wolverine fan.On July 12, after spending a wonderful day with his family, highlighted by an authentic Mexican dinner, Richard passed away peacefully. Richard has left an indelible mark on his family and will be greatly missed.Richard was the beloved husband of Germaine (nee: Kroll), and devoted father of Anthony (Maka) Cavazos, Kimberly (Cameron) Wisler, Christine (Richard) Henry, and Paul (Michelle) Cavazos. Proud grandfather of Nicole Jezdimir, Martha Cavazos, Anthony Guastella, Michael Henry, Joshua Guastella, Samuel Cavazos, Matthew Henry, Ryan Henry, Chandler Wisler, Anna Cavazos, Jacob Henry, Joseph Cavazos, Zuka Bedoshvili, Jack Cavazos, and Luke Cavazos. Great grandfather of Noah and Caleb Jezdimir. Brother of Armando (Kathy), Stan Cavazos, Robert Cavazos, and brother in-law of Dave Erwin . Predeceased by his parents the late Estanislao and Wanda, sisters the late Dolores Erwin, the late Virginia (Frank) Finch, and sister-in-law the late Linda Cavazos. Visitation for Mr. Cavazos will be Tuesday July 16th from 3-9pm with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.). Mr. Cavazos will lie in state Wednesday 9:30 am. at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church until time of the Funeral Liturgy at 10am. Celebrating the Funeral Mass will be Rev. Fr.
