Richard Ruiz

For 50 years, Richard served as an organist for the Archdiocese of Detroit, sharing his talent and love of music with many. In addition to playing the organ, he was skilled in piano, harpsichord, and guitar, making him a versatile and dedicated musician.

Beloved dad of Jeffrey (Magie) Ruiz, Kenneth (Julie) Ruiz, and Ronald Ruiz. Loving grandpa of Violet, Chelsea, Megan, Joseph, Ryan, Brendan (Hunter) and the late Myles. Dear great-grandpa of Lucy, Jasper, Hannah, Jude, Kai, and Roman. Cherished brother of Gloria, and the late Raymond, Al, Lupe. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Loving god-father of Linda Barbane.

Richard’s contributions to church music and his passion for his craft left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and the community he served.

Visitation Wednesday, January 8th from 3pm until 8pm with a rosary and sharing at 7pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, MI 48088. Richard will lie instate Thursday, January 9th from 10am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30am at Most Holy Trinity Church, 1050 Porter St, Detroit, MI 48226. Richard will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
