Richard Sylvester Stegner

Richard was a longtime resident, for 65 years, of Hamtramck, Michigan.  Richard worked within the logistics realm of a trucking company.  He was a hard worker who took great pride in his accomplishments.  He also knew how to have a good time while off the clock as well. Richard enjoyed hockey, watching sports, and bowling.  Though his passions were many, nothing gave him greater joy and pride than to be surrounded by friends and watching his family grow.  Each moment in their company renewed and refreshed his heart, and was a pleasant reminder of just how greatly he was blessed. A loving son, brother and uncle, Richard leaves behind a storehouse of unique and wonderful memories for all to embrace with each remembrance shared. May he rest in peace.

Richard was the beloved son of the late Walter & Helen Stegner. Loving brother of Dolores Stegner, Irene Malone, Major Francis Stegner (Ret.), and Rosemary Zajac, all of whom preceded him in death. Richard is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and many dear friends at Stillwell Manor.

Visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday, August 15th from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren.He will lie in state on Friday, August 16th from 9:00 am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 9:30 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Warren. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
