Rita Marie Pawlowski

Rita was a beloved mother and grandmother. Born and raised in Ruth, Michigan, she was a devoted member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and school. After relocating to Detroit and later Warren, Rita became an active member of St. Edmund's and later St. Faustina Catholic Church.

Rita shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Bernie. Their partnership lasted for 53 wonderful years until his passing in 2006. Together, they traveled extensively with their two children, David and Jill, creating countless cherished memories. Grand Teton National Park, she said, was the most beautiful of all the places she visited.

Rita was adored by her granddaughters, Julie and Jaimie, and taught them to have a spirit of giving. She made holidays joyful, especially Christmases. They enjoyed her laughter and the joy she brought to all special occasions, as well as her apple pie, Christmas Jello, and peanut butter fingers.

Known for her incredible cooking and baking skills, Rita was famous for her heavenly pies and comforting meals, which she prepared with love for those she held dear. Her culinary talents extended beyond the kitchen, as she lovingly passed down her cherished recipes to her family, ensuring that her memory will continue to live on through the meals shared at family gatherings.

Her warmth, kindness, and culinary legacy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Rita was the beloved wife of the late Bernie. Loving mother of David (the late Liz) and Jill (the late Joe) Peplinski. Adored grandmother of Julie Peplinski and Jaimie Peplinski. She was preceded in death by her siblings Cheryl (Bob), William (the late Sylvia), and Marge (the late Chet).

A Memorial for Rita will be held on Saturday, November 16th with a Visitation time starting at 8:30am until the time of her Memorial Mass at 9:00am at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 12 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48088.
