

Robert J. Bayer, 75, of Warren, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at his home. Robert was born in Detroit, 1930 the son of the late Edwin and Eva Bayer. Mr. Bayer was a graduate of University of Detroit High School and College earning a bachelor of engineering degree. After his schooling Mr. Bayer began working for GM Research, and became head of the design room. He began his career in 1952 and retired after 45 years of service in 1997. In 1953 he married his wife Sally and they moved to Warren shortly thereafter. Robert was a Cub Master of Pack #1478 - the largest pack in Metro Detroit. He also volunteered as an assistant scout master at St. Anne's parish he was the first council president and a school board president. After moving to St. Martin de Porres he joined R.C.I.A. Robert was a talented Do-It-Yourselfer. His favorite pastimes were traveling, camping, visiting family, boating and sailing. He was a warm and loving father and husband. He enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He was a solid man with the patience of Job. Robert is survived by his loving wife Sally; children Bob (Elena), Mark (Cynthia), Thomas, Mary (Thomas) Ling and Ann (Jon) McGlone; grandchildren Jessica, Melissa, Christina, Allen, Linda, Bradley, Megan, Jennifer and Mary; and brother Edwin (Gerry). He is preceded in death by his infant son Edward and parents Eva and Edwin. Visitation will be held Thursday 2-9 pm with a scripture service at 7:00 pm at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common (12 1/2 Mile). Friday, Closing prayers will take place at 9:00am at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church.
