Robert “Bob” T. Johnson, age 95, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on December 10, 2025, with his loving family by his side. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bob’s life was defined by faith, service, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
Bob was the beloved husband of Doris for 70 wonderful years. Together they built a family grounded in love and Christian faith. He was the cherished father of Bobby (Mary) and Beverly; proud papa of Jennifer (Stefan) Schram, Michelle (Mark) Nagengast, Joshua, Sarah, Jerimiah (Tamira), and Joy; and great papa to Linus, Violet, Simon, Ellie, Alaska, Lily, Chloe, and Elloise. He was also the dear brother of the late Betty, Billy, and Jim.
A veteran of the United States Army, Bob served honorably in Korea as a tanker. While in service, he was offered the opportunity to assist the Chaplain, but he declined so he could remain with his men—an example of the loyalty and selflessness that marked his character.
Following his military service, Bob worked for 43 years as a quality assurance supervisor at Masco. Known for his sharp mind and steady hands, he embodied a rare mix of precision and humility. Outside of work, he had a lifelong passion for cars and sports, and he possessed a remarkable talent for woodworking.
Bob and Doris shared a profound and enduring faith in God. They were devoted members of Calvary Baptist Church for 30 years and Faith Baptist Church for the past 40 years. Bob was always willing to serve—often volunteering as a chaperone on church field trips. Famously, he doubled as the bus driver and repairman, since the bus seemed determined to break down on many journeys. With his signature patience and ingenuity, Bob would pull over, fix the issue on the roadside, and get everyone safely back on the way.
Known affectionately as “Mr. Johnson” by the neighborhood kids, Bob became the unofficial handyman of the block. Children frequently stopped by with broken bicycles or toys, trusting that he could—and would—fix anything. He believed in repairing rather than replacing, and he often rescued discarded toys from the trash, lovingly restoring them before gifting them to grateful little hands.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, steadfast faith, and a lifetime of quiet service. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, church community, and all those whose lives were touched by his generosity and humble spirit.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
