Bob grew up in Detroit and was never one to let much stand in his way. As a young man, he was known for walking everywhere—barefoot, without shoes or socks, and often without a coat, no matter the weather. That independent and fearless spirit stayed with him throughout his life.
Bob worked for Fast Pete’s Hauling before eventually beginning a career with Peterson Construction. He took pride in his work and in the life he built along the way. Outside of work, Bob enjoyed the freedom of being outdoors. He loved riding his e-bike with his brother Ron to Belle Isle and taking his Jeep, top down, through Stoney Creek Park. He especially enjoyed spending time with the people he cared about and making memories along the way.
Bob was a great storyteller and could keep those around him entertained with stories from his life and experiences. He was a big teddy bear at heart, with a deep love for his family and friends. He was also known for being blunt, stubborn, and having a “take it or leave it” attitude. Bob never sugar-coated anything and always told it like it was. Those who knew him knew exactly where they stood with him—and wouldn't have wanted him any other way.
Bob's greatest joy was the people he loved. He treasured his family and friends and will be remembered for the laughter, stories, adventures, and memories he shared with them. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bob was truly one of a kind, and there will never be another quite like him.
