Robert shared many happy years with his beloved life partner, David Zakrzewski. Together they enjoyed relaxing on their patio, sipping cranberry vodka martinis while admiring the beautiful gardens David lovingly grew. They looked forward each year to their trips to Palm Springs and dreamed of one day retiring there together.
He cherished the close relationship he shared with his mother and was grateful to have grown up in a large, tight-knit family where he was loved unconditionally. His greatest joy was the love and companionship he shared with those closest to him. Robert was a dedicated employee of Sika Industries, where he took great pride in his work and considered his coworkers to be his second family.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved life partner, David Zakrzewski, and his parents, Joseph Jr. and Matilda Walker.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Tom (Gwen) Walker, Denise (Tom) Conte, Patrick (Tracy) Walker, Tina (Dan) Cipa, Danny (Jenny) Walker, Deanna (Lisa) Walker, and Anna (James) Cook. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews, as well as his faithful companion and best friend, his beloved dog, Bianca.
Visitation Wednesday, August 12th from 2pm until 8pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, MI 48088. Robert will lie in state on Thursday, August 13th from 11am until time of Funeral Service at 12pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Warren. A Committal Service will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
