Roberta Mildred Habermas

Roberta Mildred Habermas, 92, of Warren, MI went home to be with her LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, passing away peacefully at home on the morning of November 9, 2022. Roberta was born April 1, 1930 in Detroit, MI to parents Wilburt and Mildred Jarvis. She was predeceased by her parents, younger brother Thomas Jarvis, and the love of her life, her husband, Bob. Her sister, Sue Marcangelo (Al) lives in Rochester Hills. Roberta grew up in Detroit and attended Southeastern High School.

Roberta and Bob lived in Detroit, St. Clair Shores, and Warren, MI before moving to Lynchburg, VA for 24 years. Roberta and Bob then returned to Warren to live with their daughter Laura, her husband Don, and Don’s sister, Donna, where she lived for nine years.

Roberta was known in her family throughout her entire life as a “nurturer supreme” where one of her best known and often-repeated lines was “your home is your castle.” Throughout her entire life, she was utterly devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. More than one of her children remarked that she was the strongest believer that they have ever known.

Throughout their 72 years of marriage, God blessed Bob and Roberta with 6 children, more than 20 grandchildren, and over 40 great-grandchildren. Grafted into the list of children is Donna Pedde, a beloved “daughter” who shared the home with them in their later years. Roberta was loved deeply and will be missed by all every single day. Bob and Roberta’s children and spouses are Gary (Debbie, deceased) and Eileen Habermas of Lynchburg, Virginia, Ron and Mary Habermas of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Keith and Marla Habermas of Cleveland, Tennessee, Kevin and Carolyn Habermas of Lynchburg, Virginia, Laura (Habermas) and Don Pedde of Warren, Michigan, and Mark and Lori Habermas of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Bob and Roberta’s 20 grandchildren include Rob (Whitney) Habermas, Michelle (Bryan) Carter, Holly (Jonathan) Torrence, Kevin (Krista) Habermas, Jen Holofchak, Rick Holofchak, James (Jaime) Holofchak, Liz (Corey) Smith, Melissa (Stefan) Siems, Susan (Charles) Greathouse, Sarah (Paul) Sausville, Tracey (Ben) Davis, Melissa (John) Gann, Kelly (Travis) Griffin, Ryan (Kristin) Habermas, Courtney Habermas, Jennifer (Andrew) McKenney, Heather (Justin) Messina, Rachel (Nicholas) Shoupe, Joel (Jennifer) Habermas, Andrew (Chelsea) Habermas, Matthew Habermas and Jared Habermas. Bob and Roberta also have more than 40 great-grandchildren.

The family will be Instate Thursday, November 17th at 10am until time of Funeral Service at 11am at Fellowship Chapel, 12875 14 Mile Rd, in Sterling Heights. Burial to take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, are appreciated.
