Roger was born in Pontiac Michigan to the late Judith and David Ledford on December 4, 1963.
Roger was the beloved life partner and best friend of Elizabeth, with whom he shared over 45 years together. He was a loving and proud father to Ryan, Shelby (Quinton), and Brandon. He was a loved brother to Robyn and Ronald, and a treasured uncle, cousin, and friend to many who were blessed to know him. Roger was also a cherished “grandpa” to his adored grand-pups, Skyler and Meika, who brought him endless smiles and companionship.
A true Detroit sports fan, Roger loved cheering on his hometown teams, especially the Detroit Tigers. One of his proudest traditions was attending Tigers Opening Day, a streak he joyfully maintained for 15 years. Those days at the ballpark were among his favorites, filled with anticipation, camaraderie, and his unmistakable enthusiasm for the game.
Roger had a big heart and a soft spot for making people happy. His generosity showed up in the everyday things- keeping a running tab at the corner store so his family could always grab candy bars and pop, buying ice cream for the whole block when the truck came rolling through, and fully leaning into the magic of Christmas. He loved seeing his family smile and laugh.
At heart, Roger was a simple man with a beautiful soul, humble, generous, and full of love. His greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends, whether sharing a meal, watching a game, or simply being together. His warmth, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
