Ronald W. Lauzon Sr., age 64, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born on June 13, 1945 in Detroit, the son of the late Joseph and the late June (nee: Schubert) Lauzon. In his early years, Ron was very proud of the service he rendered our state and country as a member of the Michigan National Guard. He would always reference that period in his life with much pride and honor, and would often reflect on the part he played during the infamous Detroit Riots of 1967. Five years later, during a stay in sunny California, fate would bring a wonderful change into Ron's life. On a blind date in 1972, he met the woman that would eventually steel his heart. Then, on September 19, 1973, he and his new bride, Sandra (nee: Kinney) shared the loving vows of marriage together and walked down the aisle as husband & wife. A graduate of Henry Ford Community College, Ron attained his journeyman license and was employed as a Millwright for the Ford Motor Company. For over 23 years, he served the company with loyalty and dedication, until the time came for him to begin enjoying his retirement. When Ron wasn't working, some of the pasttimes and enjoyment he found great delight in were centered around the out-of-doors where he loved to camp and hunt. He was also quite fond of fishing, and on many occasions, could even be found casting in his line in the water...right beside his wife. The two truly enjoyed the opportunities they were afforded of sharing such a peaceful, and sometimes rewarding, time together. Another of Ron's passions was found in the sport of NASCAR. There was just something about all of that horsepower and the roar-of-the-engines that called upon this unique aspect of his sporting tastes. But of all his passions, none were more special, nor desiring, than that of the love he held for his wife and children. A devoted husband and father, he leaves behind the memories of a man who was extremely proud of his children, and revelled in every accomplishment they achieved. He will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed. Ron was the beloved husband of Sandra. He was the loving father of Dale (Sarah) Lauzon, Dawn Lauzon, and Scott Lauzon. Brother of Donald (Robin) Lauzon, Randy Lauzon, and Karen (Chris) Singelyn. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Memorial donations are welcomed to the American Heart Association, 24445 Northwestern Highway, Southfield, MI 48075. Please share memories of Ron at his guest book.
