It didn't take long to see they had their own language and were inseparable. When Ron and his Mother moved to American House Assisted Living, he was probably the most happy. There was a lot of hustle and bustle and lots of food. And of course, a lot of female aides that he used to call "Hey Girl"When he displeased his mother, she would sit very still with no expression on her face, but stared at Ronnie from the corner of her eye. I guess he could feel it and would stop whatever and, with his head held down, go up to his Mom and lay his head on her shoulder and nuzzle her. After a few moments she would "tweek" his nose and a smile grew on his face.Ronnie managed to get "Married" to several girls...some didn't work out and he'd seek another wife. Ronnie was very proud when he was asked to work in the library. He was so excited that he would repeat several times during our visit that he had to get ready for work tomorrow, and he couldn't wait. Although he was confined to a wheel chair, he managed to wear out several pairs of shoes. And he could keep up and pass you if he chose. Ron loved his Puppy, the color blue, rings, watches, bracelets, and neck chains. His favorite was anything "Cowboy". He had several cowboy hats that I put feathers on to dress them up, and cowboy boots that were repaired a number of times. Ronnie was an avid sports fan who loved watching all sporting teams. He also loved reading... especially comic books. Ronnie had a mind for puzzle solving and was very good at playing snooker. When his mother passed October 1, 2011, it was evident American House was unable to continue with his care, and he moved to Greenfield Rehab & Nursing Home in Royal Oak. He was going to miss his friends, and it was a hard decision. But it worked out pretty well. In a short time, everybody knew Ronnie and where he was. He made a lot more friends, and he had a special friend, Ken Zeiter. In fact, when Ken was ill, Ronnie would sit guard in front of Ken's room and hush anyone making too much noise in the hallway. He didn't want them to disturb Ken. In fact, Ken's wife, Sherrie, was also taken with Ronnie and called us to tell us about him and that she visited him in the hospital. On our part, we were thankful for Ken. I believe the whole Zeiter family adopted Ronnie and Ronnie adopted them.I'll miss Ronnie, especially "Hi Auntie Connie and Uncle Ted" or "For Heaven's Sakes, what are you doing here" We'll miss his wedding plans and I'll miss him telling me I look like Princess Diana. I'll also miss "Tweeking "his nose. So on September 28, 2013, a few days short of two years, Ronnie is back with his Mom and Dad and I know she'll be "Tweeking" his nose,...and God will welcome this innocent child. Love You, Auntie Connie
