Rosa Lee Cassell

Rosa Lee Cassell, age 82 of Warren, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2020 in Warren, Michigan. She was born on September 30, 1937 in Greenville, Alabama, daughter of the late Cassielean Jackson.

Rosa proudly served as an usher at New Harmony Baptist Church in Detroit until she was physically unable to do so. She had a love for reading, doing puzzles, coloring in her adult coloring books, and watching her favorite TV shows; the Golden Girls and Family Feud. Rosa will be remembered for never complaining and not being picky about anything. Most importantly, she will be remembered for always putting others first before herself, and for her big heart. As her family said, "She was a very sweet lady". 

Rosa was the loving wife of the late Matthew Cassell. Dear mother of Rose Cassell, Etta Cassell, Linda Reed, Michael (Rachel), Cathlean Cassell,  the late Steven Jackson, and the late James Cassell. Adorded grandmother of Amanda, Christina, Ashley, Cierra, Brittanie, Tarralyn. David, Joseph, Lenora, Mario, and Omar. Cherished sister of Robert (Willie Mae) Jackson. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation for Rosa Lee will be held Thursday, February 6th from 4-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren.

Her Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 7th at 11:00 am at New Harmony Baptist Church, 2455 Mt Elliott Street in Detroit. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
