

Rose Marlene Kuzmicki, age 79, died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren, Michigan. Marlene was born June 11, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Leon and Julie Dolesky (nee Rzeppa).Marlene was raised in Detroit and graduated from St. Anthony Catholic High School. While in high school, she relished giving the nuns a hard time along with her "special" childhood pals. Marlene was always ahead of her time and prided herself on keeping this trait throughout her life; she was a true rebel. Marlene was the President of Warren Consolidated Schools Clerical Union, AFSCME 1815, for 18 years during which she transformed and improved the rights and benefits of the clerical unit which continues to have a positive impact even today. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family which includes fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing cards, especially cribbage, as well as trips to her northern Michigan getaway.Mrs Kuzmicki was the beloved wife of the late Stephan who preceded her in death on May 3, 2014. Dear mother of Stephanie (Tony) Nahas, Patti (Mike) Gruber, Terry (the late Danny) Maccune, and Karen (Rick) Maes. Mrs. Kuzmicki was the loving grandmother of Katie Nahas, Tony (Patty) Nahas, Stephan Nahas, Andrew Nahas, Dallas Crandell, Michael (Amber) Gruber, Nicholas (Anna) Gruber, Amanda (Julian) Brown, Joseph (Rebekah) Gruber, Ryan Kenner, Jesse (Lindsay) Maes, Adam Maes, Rick Maes, and Alexis Maes. Mrs. Kuzmicki was the great-grandmother of Anthony IV, Alexander, Skye, Scarlett, Kaitlyn, Jonathan, Molly, JJ and Maci. She was predeceased by her parents and sisters, the late Mary (Ted) Billis, and the late Josephine Serafin. Sister-in-law of George Serafin. Marlene also leaves behind her precious Shitsu, Julie B.Memorial Visitation for Mrs. Kuzmicki will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 8th from 10:00 am until time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 noon.Memorial donations are appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.Please share memories of Marlene at her memory book.
