Sally Jean Ramsey, age 83 of Warren, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones at home. She was born August 18, 1931 in Detroit, daughter of the late William "Henry" and the late Sophie (nee: Kutchie) Grace.A loving wife, Mom, Grandma & homemaker, Sally's greatest joys in life were those wrapped around "family." Spending time in their company were always treasured moments, especially the precious memories of the holiday seasons. She nurtured the warmth of home, the hearts of three beautiful children, and did it all with such class & finesse. When she wasn't tending to the needs of home and family, you'd often find Sally out in the garden nurturing her gorgeous flower collection. She possessed an amazing green thumb that resulted in a floral spectacle for all to enjoy. Another of her favorite pastimes was enjoyed in the simple pleasure of curling up with a good book. It didn't really matter the genre, she just loved to read. Sally was also a bit health conscious and found great reward in her love of walking. And not to be left out of the sporting scene "in the D,"…there was no greater nor more avid fan of the Detroit Tigers than Sally. She loved her favorite boys of summer,…and managed to share some of that sporting love with her University of Michigan Wolverines as well. Between her baseball jones and her football fancy, Sally kept herself well-in-tune with what was happenin' on the Michigan sporting scene.Yet of all that she'll be remembered for the most, her sweet and kind spirit will reign supreme. She touched a multitude of hearts and souls throughout her journey in life, and leaves a legacy of love for all to embrace who were fortunate to know her. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Sally was the beloved wife of the late Francis. Dear mother of Pamela (Albert) Scalzo, Donna Calabrese, David (Mary) Ramsey, and the late William Ramsey. Loving grandmother of Emily Calabrese, Maegan (Kevin) Michalak, Jenny Calabrese, Tyler Ramsey, Matthew Ramsey, and great-grandmother of Dexter Michalak. She was also the sister of Juanita Herrara, and the late Jerry Grace. Sally will now join her beloved Francis through interment at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of Sally at her memory book above.
