

Samuel Robert Sherwin, “Bob,” age 90 of Clinton Township, died Monday, February 3, 2020 at A Room at the Inn in Warren. He was born September 5, 1929 in Huntington, West Virginia, son of the late Samuel and the late Cordelia (nee: Taylor) Sherwin.
Bob honorably served our country in the United States Army from 1951-1953. Following his military service, he moved from West Virginia to Detroit, Michigan to work for General Motors, a career that spanned over 30 years. Bob was married to his loving wife Helen for 55 years. He adored his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family meant the world to him and the love he leaves behind is a testimony to a man of compassion who truly made a difference in so many lives.
Bob was the beloved husband of the late Helen. Dear father of William (Mary), and stepfather of Charles (Joyce) Hanshaw, Ellen Kay Riley, John (Julie) Hanshaw, and Jan (Rick) Beam. Loving grandfather of Edward, Ginger, Patrick, Josh, Jeff, Melissa Kay, Ricky, Lisa, and the late Lance, Michelle, Lynn, and great-grandfather of Eddie, Luke R., Tala Jade, Jacob, Miquela, Griffin, Alisa, Siarra, Andrew, Levi, Selah, Luke L., Grace, Hank, Travis, Michelle and the late Euphoria.
Visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday, February 8th from 3-9 pm, with a 7 pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.
