Sean Anthony Monticciolo, age 38, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan following a courageous battle against cancer. Sean was born August 1, 1978 in Detroit, Michigan, son of John Monticciolo and Robin (nee: Toal) Quarterman.Sean was raised in Warren and graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1996, where he excelled at baseball and also played in the marching band. Following high school Sean continued his studies at Baker College where he pursued a career in fire safety. Sean was continuously learning and studying the science of fire safety along with Emergency Medical Technician training.Sean volunteered with the Clay Township Fire Department and was later employed by the Tank Automotive and Armaments Command "TACOM" Fire & Safety Prevention department. Sean loved working as a fireman, however reassignments within TACOM forced him to find a new career as a Forensic Investigator for the Macomb County Medical Examiner's office in Mount Clemens. Sean loved being an investigator. Though some days seemed longer than others, he worked faithfully for the health department for 10 years. When Sean was not working he loved the outdoors. As a younger man, he enjoyed mountain biking, often with his brother and friends, as well as skiing,…a passion he shared with his stepfather. He also continued to play sports and enjoyed his camping getaways with his wife Karen. As a young boy, Sean's love for motorcycles continued to grow by watching his father. As he got older, he, too, found camaraderie as a member of the Michigan Dressers Motorcycle Club. Over the past 10 years, his club had become a second family to Sean and he couldn't wait for good weather to ride his Harley-Davidson Road King. However, Sean's most coveted joy came with the time spent with his son, Keegan. Sean and Keegan would hunt and fish together or just take a quick motorcycle ride or boat ride on the lake. Other days, Sean was a mentor, teacher, coach, and just Dad to his son. The apple did not fall far from the tree with Keegan; he certainly is a "MiniMe" of Sean.Sean Monticciolo was the loving husband of Karen (nee: Elias), the cherished Dad of Keegan, and the late Gabrielle. Sean was the beloved son of John (Gloria) Monticciolo and Robin Quarterman, and stepson of Paul Quarterman. Dear brother of Paula Quarterman, Craig (Julie) Voth, and uncle of Cristien and Cody. Dearest grandson of Phyllis Monticciolo, and predeceased by all of his other grandparents. Sean was the son in-law of David (Jane) Elias, brother in-law of Nicole (Nicholas) Stacy, and Godson of Dave (Cheryl) Moody and Mary Schulte. Sean is also survived by many loving family members, friends, and the Michigan Dressers M/C family. Visitation for Sean will be held Saturday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren.
