Serene Hattie Russ, age 83, of Warren, died Friday, September 30, 2011 at Sanctuary at the Abbey in Warren. Serene was born in Detroit on December 6, 1927 to the late Bernard and the late Via (nee:Dassey) Hiller. Serene is the beloved wife of the late Leo. Dear mother of Janet (Vic) Roeske, Nancy (Roy) Kirchoff, and Gregg Russ. Loving grandmother of Nancy (Mike) Slifka, and great grandmother of Jacqueline. Sister of Bernard (Dusty) Hiller. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 8th 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road). Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society and Lymphoma & Leukemia Association.
