Sheila Ann Ballatore, age 57 of Warren, died Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at her residence. She was born October 12, 1962 in Detroit, daughter of the late John "Johnny" and Caroline "Carol" (nee: Kush) Carpenter.
Beloved wife of the late Leland Walls, and recently of Robert Ballatore. Treasured mother of Sarah (fiancé, Shannon Neely) Walls, and Matthew (Alexandria Leinenger) Ballatore. Loving grandmother of Alexis Destiny Neely, Elliot Matthew Ballatore, and Evalyn Marie Leinenger. Dearest sister of Dawn Cline, Sue Carpenter, and Julie Keller. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Jack Keller. Sheila also leaves her cherished friends, Robert "Bob" Thomason, Keli Newlin, and Glenn Winovitch.
Growing up in Roseville, Michigan, Sheila was a proud graduate of the city’s Carl Brablec High School. A homemaker and Mom like none other, Sheila’s two children, Sarah & Matthew were the fortunate recipients of the love and care she so generously poured out.
When she found a little “me time” in the day, Sheila was imbued with a unique and genuine passion for music. Of course, her listening pleasures were vast and all-inclusive,…but she was also gifted in playing music as well through her talents as a guitarist. Her guitar was not merely an extension of the gift she embodied, but it also served as her mental sanctuary,…offering her a mode of seeking a bit of peace and balance through the sounds her fingers produced.
Sheila enjoyed another pleasure, the joys of being the owner of a horse. She adored her horse immensely, and trained her in the finer points of equestrian riding. All dressed out and preened to the nines, Sheila found great satisfaction in the care and compassion of owning such a beautiful animal.
Sheila was the most kind, loving, and forgiving person you would ever meet, with a unique personality like no other in this world. Her strange sense of humor and way with words never failed to put a smile on your face. A caretaker by nature, she was unmatched in her ability to perceive others' needs. She always made sure that everyone around her was happy, even when she was not. If she knew it was your birthday, you were guaranteed a homemade cake of your choosing. She had an enormous heart with a gentle soul and a passion for life. Full of adventure, energetic, and always on the go, she wore out everyone. From the day they came into this world, her grandchildren became her life. She never refused one walk, one movie, one snack, or a day of make believe. She was always there. She had a deep connection to nature and a profound respect for all living things. A friend and mother to all, she has made a lasting impact on this earth. Loved, missed, and cherished, she will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life ceremony for Sheila will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan.
