

Shirley Marie Demers died Sunday March 9, 2008 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy Michigan. Shirley was born August 21, 1939 in East Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Clayton and Mildred Beck. Shirley was raised in St. Clair Shores Michigan and lived in Detroit for over 15 years before moving out to the suburbs. Shirley would reside for the last 15 years in Romeo Michigan. Mrs. Demers was a hard working woman who was an avid reader. She enjoyed her early work at St. John Hospital in Detroit working on the newborn child obstetrics floor. Afterward Shirley worked for the Great Scott Grocer chain as a clerk and eventually Shirley would work for the Kmart Store in Romeo as a retail associate. Shirley enjoyed traveling, and taking trips camping to be by the lake. Also she was a very good cook, and recently enjoyed watching the cooking channel. She was not afraid to try a new recipe and share it with family. Her family and grandchildren were truly her passion in life; she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Demers is the loving mother of Lee Ann (Robert) Kopah, William (Bernice) Liddy, Patrick Liddy, and the late Cynthia (Rick) Kopah. She is the dear grandmother of Laura (John) Hessell, Tamara (Chad) Wodecki, Robert Kopah, David Kopah, and Ryan Liddy. Also the great-grandmother of Michael, Jessica, Corey, and Brandon. Shirley is the sister of Carole Henkel, Mark Beck, Michael (Cheryl) Beck, and the late Gary, and Rodney Beck. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
