Shirley A. Hogan

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Margaret VanAelst and by her cherished and beloved husband, Homer, with whom she shared a successful fifty-seven year marriage.

Shirley held many roles in her family; she was mother to Terry (Rob) Roles, grandmother to Kristen (Chad) Schuler and Alysia Burge. No role brought her greater joy than that of “Grannie” (great-grandmother) which she was affectionately called by Emersyn Schuler.

In addition to her familial roles, Shirley enjoyed her time as an educator influencing the growth and development of more than one thousand students during her fifty-year career.

Shirley’s legacy of faith, family, hardwork, (and impeccable design and fashion sense) will live on in the hearts and memories of family and friends.

Visitation Saturday, January 21st from 10am until time of Funeral Service at 1pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, Warren. Burial to take place at Pere Marquette Cemetery in Ludington.
