Shirley Veronica Rocco

Shirley Veronica Rocco age 81 died August 7, 2013 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan. Shirley was born January 11, 1932 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of the late Charles and the late Frances Rocco.Shirley was raised in Detroit and graduated high school from Catholic schools. She later went to work as a secretary for Chrysler Motors where she loved being a member of the team of girls. She later joined the women of the Chryslerettes which was a social group of employees.Shirley was a devout Catholic and devoted to her church Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Detroit. When she was not working at Chrysler Shirley was also a caregiver to both her parents. She loved to cook meal and bake cookies especially at Christmas time. Later in life she took to crocheting and caring for her cats. Shirley was very much an animal lover and never met a stray she was not willing to take in and feed.Shirley was the beloved sister of Richard Rocco, and the late Arthur Rocco. Shirley is also survived by three nieces, and one nephew. Visitation for Shirley will be Monday from 3-9pm with a 7:30pm Rosary at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile). In State Tuesday 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10am at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 8200 Rolyat in Detroit.
