Sonya Mae Malone

Sonya Mae Malone, age 46 of Warren, died at Saturday, January 09, 2010 at St. John Macomb Hospital Center in Warren after her courageous battle against cancer. Sonya was born April 16, 1963 in Hamtramck, Michigan the daughter of the late Stanley J. Drozd and the late Gladys (nee: Roderick) Drozd. Sonya was raised in Hamtramck and on the eastside of Detroit where she attended Osborn High School. She has been a resident of Warren for the past 16 years and worked as a certified nurses associate with St. Marys Nursing Home. When Sonya was not working she enjoyed her time as a stay at home mom, and traveling to her northern Michigan cottage. She cherished her family and children and granddaughters. Also she loved flowers and plants. Sonya is survived by her loving husband Richard. She is the dearest mother of Joseph (Nicole) Mylnarek, Richard Jr., and Steven Malone. Beloved sister of Roxanne, and Vania (Ted) Kubacki. Cherished grandmother of Autumn and Chloe. Visitation for Mrs. Malone will be Friday from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 mile). Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 12 Noon. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Jerry Weinzierl.
