Stanley Frank Smigielski, age 93, of Warren, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Stanley was born September 18, 1928, in Fordson, Michigan, (eventually renamed, Dearborn), son of the late Frank and the late Anna (nee: Vorva) Smigielski.
Stanley was a 64 year resident of Warren. He lived in the same house he bought new with his wife, Margaret. Stanley was proud to serve his country first during the Second World War as a Civilian Defense messenger boy. Later in 1951, he was drafted into the Army for the Korean War attached to the 68th AAA Gun Battalion, Battery B and served till 1953. In the 1980's Stanley again served his country on the Selective Service board. He worked at Clark Catering Company in Detroit for 43 years, retiring in 1993. In his spare time, Stanley loved to try to fix things around the house and chat with neighbors. Tigers baseball was his passion and it was rare for him to miss a game on TV. He was a member of the VFW Menge Post in Center Line. Up to a few years ago, he enjoyed shooting pool at the VFW hall. He was also the Past Commander of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, Post 165 in Warren.
Stanley was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee: Konwerski). Loving father of Frank (Ruthann) Smigielski and Michael Smigielski. Cherished grandfather of Erin (Tyler) Ash and Adam (Amanda) Smigielski. Dear brother of the late Helen (the late Paul) Ryniak, Rose (the late Alphonse) Pieknik, the late Julia (the late Raymond) Patelczyk, the late Stella (the late Alfred) Latowski, and brother-in-law of Paul (Jadzia) Konwerski and Andrew Konweski.
Visitation for Stanley will be held Sunday, December 5th from 3-9pm with a 6pm Scripture Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road in Warren. He will lie in state on Monday from 9:15am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church, St. Clement Site, 25320 Van Dyke Ave, Center Line, MI 48015.
Burial with Full Military Honors will follow Mass at St. Clement Cemetery directly behind the church.
