Stella Jaworski passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the age of 95. A woman of deep love, devotion, and faith, Stella’s life was centered around family, friendship, and her cherished Polish heritage. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and countless memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Stella was the loving mother of James (Aileen) Jaworski, Judith (Richard) Szymanski, and Jeffrey (the late Paula) Jaworski. She was the cherished grandmother of Darlene (Gary) Marciniak, Deanne (Bo) Murdoch, Dawn (Cory) Kintner, Keith (Sherry) Szymanski, Amy (Garrett) Ignasiak, Michelle (Derek) Zuidema, Brian (Sandra) Jaworski, and David (Amber) Jaworski. Her joy only grew as her family expanded, and she was the proud great-grandmother of Zackery, Conner, Matthew, Kaleb, Kendall, Katelyn, Alex, Adam, Jake, Ryan, Nolan, Caroline, Isabella, Gabriella, Aiden, Kinsley, and Gia. Stella was also survived by her dear sister in law Delphine Raska and dear friend Janice Ornstem
She was preceded in death by her sister, Angeline Toohey, and by her former spouse, the late Gene Jaworski.
Stella was born on May 2, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan. She was raised in the close-knit community of Hamtramck, Michigan, where she attended and graduated from Hamtramck High School in 1947. She married Gene Jaworski in October of 1954, and together they raised a beautiful family. The Jaworski family would always remain near and dear to her heart.
Family meant everything to Stella. She was the number one fan of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, rarely missing an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and milestones. Her pride in her family was unmistakable, and her encouragement and unconditional love were gifts that shaped generations.
Stella was also deeply proud of her Polish roots. She delighted in listening to lively polka bands, attending summer festivals, and celebrating the traditions that connected her to her heritage. Her vibrant personality and warm spirit made her a beloved presence in many social circles.
She was a member of several organizations that reflected both her faith and her love of community, including the Alliance of Poles in Hamtramck, the Polish Roman Catholic Union in Chicago, the St. Clement Rosary Altar Society, and the group that held a particularly special place in her heart, the Hamtramck Queen of Apostles Seniors, a cherished circle of lifelong friends who had attended the same grade school together.
Stella will be remembered for her welcoming smile, her lively conversations, and the deep love she shared so freely with those around her. Her life was a beautiful example of devotion to family, faith, and heritage.
