Stella Rybicki (nee: Archutowski), age 93, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, peacefully, at Shelby Nursing Center in Shelby Township, Michigan. Stella was born on April 7, 1917 in Detroit, the daughter of Adam and Camilla Archutowski. Stella worked at Champion Spark Plug where she retired from with over 30 years of dedicated service to the company. Along with that work experience, we honor Stella for the role she played during World War II as one of the many "Rosie the Riveter's" who labored diligently in support of our troops and our country's efforts toward freedom & liberty. When not working, some of Stella's favorite pasttimes included shopping, going out to dinner, and planting flowers in her garden. Another of her favorites was playing card games, and it was always a memorable pasttime as it was at a card game that she met the love of her life, Steve, the man with whom she promised herself in marriage. Stella was also a very proud home owner, often sharing with family members and friends how she purchased her own home as a single woman in the fifties. In telling the heartfelt story of Stella, it would definitely center around "family." Her family was precious to her, and each moment they spent together brought her immeasurable joy. The memories that were made will be the strength that lives on, and the legacy of love she leaves behind will be the hug to all of the souls whose lives she touched. Mrs. Rybicki is the beloved wife of the late Steve. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rybicki will lie in state Tuesday, 9:00 am at St. Blase Catholic Church until the time of Mass at 9:30 am. Visitation will be on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Internment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. Please share memories of Mrs. Rybicki at her guest book.
